In this assignment, you will demonstrate your understanding of the Christian worldview, including the main topics you have covered up to this point. You will summarize and analyze the essential elements of the gospel (nature of God, nature of humanity, nature of Jesus, and restoration) and reflect on implications for the Christian worldview.
Write a 1,500-2,000-word essay using at least four resources. The four resources need to include at least two course resources (textbook, topic overviews, the Bible) and at least two other sources from the GCU Library to support your points. Remember, the Bible counts as one resource regardless of how many times you use it or how many verses you cite.
Begin your paper with an appropriate introduction, including a thesis statement to introduce the purpose of the paper. Present the gospel essentials (nature of God, nature of humanity, nature of Jesus, and restoration), the Christian foundation, and an analysis of the implications of the Christian worldview.
Use the "Gospel Essentials Essay Template." Based on the Christian worldview, write at least one paragraph for each of the following components.
Nature of God: What is the triune God like? What are God's characteristics? What is his creation?
Nature of Humanity: What is human nature? What is human purpose? What is the root cause of human problems?
Nature of Jesus: What is Jesus's true identity? What was Jesus's kingdom purpose? Why is Jesus's identity and work significant for the Christian worldview?
Restoration: What is the solution to human problems according to the Christian worldview? What role do grace, faith, and repentance play in Christian salvation? How do Christians think that the transformation of self and society happen?
Christian Foundation: Summarize how the concepts of the gospel essentials (nature of God, nature of humanity, nature of Jesus, and restoration) constitute the foundation of the Christian worldview. In other words, how are these concepts essential to the Christian worldview?
Analysis of the Implications of the Christian Worldview: Based on the previous five prompts, analyze the implications of the Christian worldview by addressing each of the following questions:
What are the benefits or strengths of the Christian worldview as it relates to human value and dignity?
Compare the Christian concept of salvation in contrast to any other worldview perspective.
How does the Christian worldview influence a person's thinking and behavior?
What do people find troublesome or confusing about Christianity and why?
Conclusion: Synthesize the main points, pulling the ideas of the paper together.

Introduction
A Christian worldview is the powerful force in life that provides a sense of God’s nature and purpose for this world. Every Christian believes in a triune God who is the Maker of heaven and earth. This is the first thing that every Christian must believe in before anything else. Christians also believe that man is formed in God’s image and is granted both reason and free will in his decisions: God respects our freedom but wishes that we use our free will and rationality to have fellowship with him. Christians also believe in the fallen nature of man, which is renewed towards God through belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and redeemer (Ryken, 2006). Tied to this understanding is the restoration of man through repentance, grace, and faith. By turning away from sin and believing in Christ’s redemptive work, one is wholly reunited with God through grace. The essentials of the gospel are not open to debate and are fixed principles that must be accepted by every Christian who wishes to arrive at a wholesome understanding of God and his plan for man.
Nature of God
The bible categorically and explicitly states that there is only one God (Mark 12:29; Malachi 2:10; Isaiah 44:8; Deuteronomy 6:4). In addition to proclaiming the oneness of God, the Scriptures also affirm the triune nature: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each of the three figureheads is co-equal and co-eternal as shown in Genesis 1:26-27: “God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens…”. Here God is speaking to His other figureheads, thereby supporting the doctrine of the trinity. Other passages in the New Testament also indicate the deity of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. While the operations and functions of the Trinity are a divine mystery, the Scriptures indicate three other aspects of God’s nature: He is eternal; He is the Creator of Heaven and Earth; and He is a relational Being (Esqueda, 2014). The first sections of Genesis reveal that God has always existed separate of creation and time and thus the reason he revealed himself to Moses as Yahweh, meaning an everlasting God. Moreover, the Old and New Testaments affirm God’s creative intent that formed and sustains the universe. God is also a relational being and has always wanted a personal fellowship with man despite his weakness and disobedience.
Nature of Humanity
The Bible reveals that God made man and woman in His own image (Genesis 1:26-31) thereby implying that He wanted them to be like Him although not possessing of his omniscient and omnipotent power. By creating human like Himself, He gave them the capacity to reason, have dominion over creation, and independence. However, after the sin of the first parents in the garden of Eden, man’s nature was changed in a very profound way in that his desires became evil and sinfulness became part of human nature (Newton, 2010).
