This manuscript will articulate the distinction and correlations between the two essential Eastern religions, Buddhism and Hinduism. The discussion helps many individuals yearn to understand the existing similarities and differences between these two key religions. Buddhism is traced to a Buddha 25 centuries ago within the Indian regions (Nandan, 2013). Hinduism was identified in the Veda document, first copied around 1000 B.C. Like many other existing religions, Hinduism and Buddhism have evolved distinctively, and it is important to illustrate this in this article. The focus of this study will delve into pinpointing the similarities and distinctions that are presented by analyzing these two religions.
Hinduism has fundamental beliefs that include the return of creator Brahma. The purity of the soul is required for a Hindu to return to Brahma, which involves the rebirth process called "moksha," and the soul can achieve ecstasy and eternity. However, their return is a daunting task that involves the Hindus being more proactive in changing their life phases called the "Wheel of Life." On the flipside, Buddhism's teachings "Dhamma" reveals a philosophy to illustrate the fact to uphold the law provided in these doctrines (Nandan, 2013). The doctrines highlight the similarities between Hinduism and Buddhism, including their emphasis on the significance of karma in the world during the phases of life and death.
