Various religions shape global morality through their teachings. The principles of the Eightfold Path are at the base of the Buddhist religious beliefs, which provide guidelines to societal and religious morality. They include Right Thought, Right Understanding, Right Speech, Right Livelihood, Right Action, Right Effort, Right Concentration, and Right Mindfulness (Basics of Buddhism, n.d).
