Communication is a part of life. People communicate daily — by talking, shouting, nodding, or smiling. Listening is also a part of the communication process. Thus, communication involves verbal and non-verbal language and listening. Communication becomes effective when it is articulated and perceived well.
In any industry or profession, communication is essential. Non-verbal communication and active listening allow effective communication, resulting in positive effects. Non-verbal communication involves gestures and body language such as giving a thumbs up, raising eyebrows, nodding, or frowning. These movements may foster camaraderie and strengthen relationships, but they may also befuddle or insult others. Indeed, actions speak louder than words.
