Interfaith dialogue is increasing in popularity where individuals offer cooperative, constructive, and positive interactions on different religious traditions. Students are encouraged to read to gain different perspectives and come up with challenging questions that engage debates on religion theory. The phenomenon is becoming popular as individuals are open to delving into new religious traditions to find themselves. This essay is a summary of Paul Knitter's lecture on how Buddhism had an impact on his Christianity and a personal reflection of experiences.
He talks about the reality of venturing into two different religions. His journey started with studying missionary as a seminarian with a dream of being a priest. His motivation was to try and convert the majority of people who did not believe in Jesus. This coincided with the change in the church's attitude towards other religions.
