This assignment will increase your awareness of the behavior around you as well as the complexities involved in assessing such behavior. For this assignment, you will assess any behavior that you observed during a COVID-19 related lock-down, stay at home/stay safe mandate, or shutdown that seemed abnormal. Think about what behavior you observed while at home, around your neighborhood, at work, etc. Describe the behavior that caught your attention, the particulars of the behavior, and assess that behavior according to the 4D’s.“the four Ds”: deviance, distress, dysfunction, and danger. That is, patterns of psychological abnormality are typically deviant (different, extreme, unusual, perhaps even bizarre), distressing (unpleasant and upsetting to the person), dysfunctional (interfering with the person’s ability to conduct daily activities in a constructive way), and possibly dangerous.

The deviance is linked to the person with anxiety, mostly staying indoors in contact with other people. Even though the covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has resulted in reduced social interactions, staying indoors all long is likely to increase social isolation. Minimal to no social interactions are a concern even as social distancing measures have been adopted to limit the virus's spread. In-person (face-to-face), telephone, internet, and video interaction all influence how people relate with each other. Reduced in-person interaction is a more pressing matter than the other forms of interaction. As the deviant behavior is extreme and unusual, it affects how one relates with others over time if there is no change.
 Distress
 Distress reflects behavior where one is extremely upset and other abnormal behaviors associated with anxiety, emotional upset, anxiety, and distress. Anxiety is one of the concerns associated with distress, and this is maladaptive for the individual, who are increasingly paranoid about their lifestyles.
