For this assignment, use the case study above and the Unit 4 Assignment Template to write a paper that discusses how various environmental factors influence the client’s behavior within the developmental stage of infancy (0-2 years).
Please respond to the following:
Identify three relevant diagnoses, problems, or issues described in the case study that are affecting Max.
Considering the biopsychosocial theory, discuss what factors are relevant to consider when working with a client who is in the developmental stage of infancy.
Based on each of the three issues you identified in the first bullet, identify a minimum of three specific services and/or interventions that could be provided by a human service professional to assist Max and explain how each service and/or intervention is helpful to the client.
Discuss how you would evaluate whether each of the three services and/or interventions that you suggested were effective for this client.

The Infant's Mental Distress and Development Max's diagnoses are classified into depression, insomnia, and restrictive food intake disorders. Depression is expressed by a lack of social interaction and parental relationships with his caregivers. On the other hand, insomnia is illustrated by his inability to sleep at night and sleep disturbance associated with waking up two times a week screaming. In this case study, the caregiver's single parenthood, financial stress, relationship conflict, and substance abuse influence the infant's mental distress and development.
Factors to Consider in the Developmental Stage According to the Biopsychosocial Model
The biopsychosocial model addresses patients' wellness and health by assessing their biological, psychological, and social principles (Gilbert, 2019). Several elements, such as environmental stress, genetics, and difficulty regulating emotions, lead to the development of psychological disorders. Max's biological state affects his psychological well-being and ability to interact with others which explains his mental distress. The biological factors that impact his health result from the effects of substance abuse during Mary's pregnancy and breastfeeding. These behaviors led to reactive airway disorder. The psychological component of the model examines thoughts, emotions, and behavior. Mary works for long hours and has insufficient bonding time with his son. Besides, the father is barely present in the latter's life. The social component examines factors such as social interactions and economic status that affect a patient's mental well-being.
Interventions for the Diagnosis
One of the interventions in treating depression is psychotherapy. In this case study, cognitive behavioral therapy is a talk intervention that should be applied to the caregiver and the child. This type of therapy incorporates techniques such as play therapy, modeling, reconstructing, and exposure (Thomas & Eddy, 2018). CBT is categorized into parent-child, family, and group-based therapy.
