Having undertaken the stress quiz, I must admit that I am surprised by the results. A score of 25 and 55 which is interpreted to mean that I am very close to the danger zone is rather worrying. It further means that I could be having some symptoms of stress or that I am already leading a stressful lifestyle without releasing it. I find this surprising because I feel that I lead a pretty much normal life and that I have pressure under control. The test is an eye opener that sometimes it is possible for a person to be stressed and not realize that they are.
Stress impacts the body in multiple ways. To begin, it tends to slow down the normal function of the body. The symptoms and manifestation of stress varies from one person to another. There are people who feel tired all the time because they are stressed. This in turn makes it difficult for the body to function normally. Stress also affects the brain which in turn may affect other body organs (Dana, 2014). Signs of stress will vary among different people. However, always having deep thoughts and developing a need to seclude oneself from other people are among the signs of stress. If left unchecked, stress develops further to depression which in some cases becomes fatal.
There is a relationship between emotions, motivation and stress. When a person is unable to keep their emotions under control, they are likely to spiral into emotional distress (Baltus, 2012). This in effect ...
