In recent years there has been an increase in discussion regarding the applications of ethics in the medical field. As a health specialist, I have faced different scenarios requiring me to apply ethics. One of the outstanding instances was when I had a 26 years woman with a series of mental conditions. The patient suffered from a series of depressive episodes that triggered her to harm herself. After conducting the research, it was evident that the abusive nature of her partner caused these instances. Her partner was emotionally and physically abusive and threatened to kill her if she opened up about the condition.
The woman was, therefore, not ready to share this information with the relevant authorities since she feared that it would put her life at risk and her partner would be imprisoned.
