James, a 32-year-old, has been a drug addict since his mid-20s. After experiencing deteriorated life full of setbacks, such as losing his job, and diseases such as liver problems, he has been taken to our hospital for treatment. One of the treatments recommended to him is behavior therapy. Behavior therapy is a treatment procedure that focuses on identifying and helping to change possible self-destructive habits. James can benefit from this therapy to reflect on his feelings and though with the guidance of a behavioral therapist.
The treatment program will help develop ways to deal with issues affecting James. Through the stewardship of a therapist, behavior therapy helps a person cope with his drug cravings, recommending strategies to minimize drugs and avoid relapse and knowing to deal with relapse when they occur (Mayo Clinic, 2022). In this situation, a behavioral analyst is vital in helping evaluate James's progress. As a behavioral analyst, it is essential to employ mechanisms and implement a treatment to achieve positive outcomes.
