Emotional Intelligence
Emotional intelligence is termed as an individual’s self-awareness, self-confidence, self-control, dedication and reliability, as well as an individual’s capability to communicate, affect, engineer change and agree to change. The most crucial attributes of emotional intelligence that enable an individual to make sound decisions are self-awareness, dedication and reliability. This means that individuals that are unable to use emotional intelligence have challenges when it comes to the handling of relationships with the people around them (Barbuto, & Burbach, 2006). Ideally, dealing with people on day to day basis can affect our moods. This calls for an understanding of the moods and attitudes of the individuals around us. Once this has been attained, an individual is then supposed to take measures to insulate himself/herself from being influenced by the moods of those around them. The awareness that an individual has an effect on ones emotions is key in taking hold of one’s emotions and making sure that they do not act in a an irrational manner. The understanding that there are individuals whose moods affects ours is crucial since it leads an individual to always be alert to prevent transference of emotions from the other individual (Gohm, Corser, & Dalsky, 2005).
The other way through which an individual can put their emotions in check is through effective time...
