Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder related to the tremendous fear of gaining weight and distorted body image perception. Thus, it results in the refusal to eat, leading to malnutrition and dehydration. Additionally, individuals with the disorder tend to engage in a prolonged period of physical activity to lose the calories gained by eating a small meal. Patients are also inclined to buying weight loss products, such as pills, slimming teas and coffees, and appetite suppressants. These are done to prevent gaining weight, despite having a perfect body proportion and a healthy weight based on body-mass index (BMI) (Gurung, 2018).
