Clinical psychology plays a pivotal role in creating diagnoses of patients with various health complications in healthcare. Ideally, in clinical psychology, experts often identify symptoms in patients, develop an appropriate diagnosis, and propose the proper intervention treatments for patients (Pomerantz, 2019). This paper explores various assessment skills and tasks within clinical practice. Examples at multiple levels will also be provided to illustrate the effectiveness of clinical psychology in offering medical treatments and intervention strategies.
Active listening in clinical practice is always an essential element. The clinicians and the patients need a cordial relationship with each other so that a rapport can be created (Pomerantz, 2019). This helps the clinicians ensure they listen to what the client is saying and avoid misinterpretations.
