My effectiveness as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) dealing with autistic children depends heavily on my ability to recognize and respond to various feelings and perceptions. Empathy for and an awareness of the kids' points of view is the first and most important need. Empathy is crucial for good treatment because it helps me connect with the kids more profoundly, understand their feelings, and meet their needs (Botha, 2021). Moreover, I place a premium on being able to see details closely. Understanding children's behavior and providing appropriate treatments requires an eye for and an ear for their nonverbal indicators and communication patterns.
