The social communication deficit in conduct disorder: a clinical and community survey, is a quantitative research (Gilmour, Hill, Place, & Skuse, 2004). This is to mean the quantitative method of research was applied in this research to get to the findings discussed ("Introduction Lecture: Part 1", n.d.). The hypothesis that guided the research in this case was testing the fact that there are many children who are identified to have conduct disorder also have primary deficit with reference to the pragmatic language skills, to a level that is significantly comparable to autistic spectrum (Gilmour, Hill, Place, & Skuse, 2004). To establish the results in the research survey, the researchers used the children’s communication checklist. The research findings were well organized in a manner that the readers would easily understand (Gilmour, Hill, Place, & Skuse, 2004).

There are quite a number of research topics that could be investigated in the research project. One of them is the impact that parenting has on social communication disorder (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2017). This is relative to determining the impact that the approach in parenting has on children and their ability to communicate effectively in their social circles (Tagliareni, 2017). This research will apply a qualitative approach in the data collection and analysis. This is relative to the fact that, the research in question largely relates to social implications of parenting to the communication skills a child develops (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, 2017). The variable in this case will be the communication skills of the child and the parenting skills of the parents (Tagliareni, 2017). The parenting skills are the independent variables while the dependent variables in the research are the communication skills of the child (Tagliareni, 2017). This mainly due to the fact that the parenting skills and approaches of the parents will determine the skills their children will have and their ability to express themselves in the social settings of a school setting or otherwise ("Introduction Lecture: Part 1", n.d.).
