The most significant challenge facing the world today is the global influenza pandemic, Covid-19. Covid-19 was discovered in 2019 in Wuhan, China. It caused many unforeseen challenges, including loss of human life, health challenges, and economic and social disruptions globally. The effect of Covid -19 is still being experienced worldwide. As a result, millions of enterprises face the threat of extinction, millions of people lose their employment and livelihood.
Additionally, climate change poses a great challenge globally. Global warming, defined as the gradual rise of the average air temperature and heating of the earth’s surface, is caused by cutting trees and increased carbon dioxide in the air. This results in bush fires and other calamities like the case of Australia and California. The effect of global warming is severe as it causes water scarcity, food insecurity, increased poverty level, and increased threats of floods and drought (Kasotia).
