Poverty is one of the greatest challenges facing third world countries, especially the African continent. Over people live in poverty, with approximately four million people in Africa. However, the government can help reduce poverty by focusing on economic growth. Poverty and economic growth affect each other. When there is high economic growth, the poverty levels reduce. The government should consider addressing issues that would lead to economic growth and ultimately reduce poverty. The issues that ought to be addressed are; increased agricultural productivity, the rule of law, and infrastructure.
