Attention Getter: How many of you here can agree with me that all students have the right to a college education?
Credibility Statement: College students acquire relevant knowledge and skills, which enable them to become employed after their studies, stay healthier and happier lives, provide for their families, and end the vicious cycle of poverty.
Thesis Statement: All students should go to college since education is one of the primary things that facilitate the decline of unemployment rates, healthy lifestyles, and eliminate poverty in society.

All students should go to college so that they can obtain appropriate knowledge and skills that would enable them to get jobs upon their graduation.
First-Generation College Students (FGCS) want to get and maintain employment throughout their lives, which is only achievable if they go to college and finish their courses successfully (Pratt, Harwood, Cavazos, & Ditzfeld, 2017).
If all students attend college, the problem of school dropout in higher education institutions will be eliminated.
Based on a 2014 survey, about 20% of students who join colleges are FGCS, and they are 71% more likely to leave the school during their first year when compared to non-FGCS (Pratt, Harwood, Cavazos, & Ditzfeld, 2017).
Concluding Remarks: Therefore, taking all students to college would eliminate the problem of high school dropout rate, and learners would acquire knowledge and skills to enter the highly competitive job market.
College education significantly contributes to decreasing the rate of poverty.
These higher education institutions offer entrepreneurship courses and other knowledge and skills that help students be creative and innovative.
Specifically, entrepreneurship refers to a sustainable tool of development that can alleviate joblessness and poverty (Huang et al., 2021).
Huang et al. (2021) conducted a study that involved 384 college student participants from twenty-two universities in the province of Guangdong (Huang et al., 2021).
The study showed a significant correlation between college education and the reduction of poverty.
Concluding Remarks: On that note, all students should go to colleges so that they can boost their entrepreneurial spirits and eliminate poverty.
Through the implementation of the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB, 2001), the federal government paved the way for an equal, fair, and high-quality education.
Although introducing the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015 weakened the NCLB, and it initiated federal and state programs to cater to the needs of students from poor and low-income families (Black, 2017).
Many students fail to go to college since their parents cannot afford the high cost of education.
However, the government can intervene and provide financial assistance for such students so that they can go to college and acquire proper knowledge and skills.
