Starbucks’s Digital Transformation
Digital transformation is the change in methods and software delivery methods that helps an organization adapt better to a business environment that changes quickly. In a nutshell, digital transformation is the change from monolithic to microservices architectures and from physical to virtual environments. In this study, we focus on Starbucks, having been reviewed by Forbes for setting digital transformations that cannot be ignored (Barsky, 2021).
Starbucks has been a major player in the food and drinks business for a long time. On the other hand, the company has become a digital market leader thanks to recent investments in technology. The company uses digital channels like mobile, Web, and social media platforms to reach more customers (Barsky, 2021). Starbucks is combining these channels with its existing brick-and-mortar stores to give customers a consistent experience with the brand.
Roy (2018) suggests that a successful digital transformation comprises nine basic building blocks that can be broken down into three groups: changing the customer experience, operational processes, and business models. Digital transformation includes things like a better understanding of the customer, better sales presentations, more customer touchpoints, automation, virtualization of individual tasks, performance management, digitization of businesses, launch of digital products, and digital globalization. Businesses have started to learn more about their customers by studying market segmentation and social media, and they also advertise the things that make their customers happy on social media. Technology is making it easier for people to make sales pitches and making them more effective overall.
