Sustainability is one of the major emerging issues that businesses strive to address in today's corporate world. In this light, for the company to be tagged as sustainable, it must address the economic viability, social responsibility, and environmental factors. As part of most organizations' growth and strategy, the organizations implement corporate social responsibility and environmental protection policies (Fowler & Hope, 2007). Additionally, the organizations that implement corporate social and ecological sound policies, in most cases, create sustainable economic values. In as much, there is no clear definition of sustainability. It exhibits some ambiguity, the overall view, and understanding of a sustainable business environment. That stems from the idea that a sustainable business environment is a holistic system that includes the natural nature and the artificial that presents a need to be balanced and lasts an extended period (Høgevold et al., 2014). Therefore, sustainability is viewed in the corporate and business world's economic performance as entailing profit and performance.
Additionally, the environment would see to it that the planet from which the business operates is clean. Subsequently, the social performance includes how responsible the company is toward the people who live within or who the potential clients are for their product and services. This paper will examine, compare, and contrast Adidas, Puma, Transurban, and Sydney Airport's limited response to sustainability practices.
Adidas is one of the largest producers of sportswear, and it originated in Germany, Europe. In light of its sustainable practices, Adidas has since embraced the sustainable business practices that stem from governance, materials, and manufacturing (Zagel, & Tarhonskyi, 2020). All the aspects of management, materials, and manufacturing revolve around the sustainability practices that consider economic performance, corporate social responsibility, and the subsequent environmental factors. Assessing the ecological approach to sustainability, Adidas has since joined other corporations and businesses in making sure that they look after the environment for both people who live in the world today and for the future generation. In this light, it is essential to note that Adidas is a global business that operates in almost all parts of the world. For this reason, Adidas has continued to manage the environmental impacts at its sites (Gröschl et al., 2019). Consequently, management of the environmental impacts at the site is done along the value chain. Therefore, Adidas has since considered the environmental impacts from the points where their products are designed, manufactured, created, and subsequently transported and sold.
Adidas has also included environmental sustainability as part of its integral sustainability component, and it has since created a vision that goes beyond 2025((Zagel & Tarhonskyi, 2020).
