The hospitality and tourism industry has gone through numerous changes over the years. It has also been growing and developing very fast. Several changes have taken place which has made the industry what it is today. The emergence of technology has enabled hotels to serve clients more efficiently. However, this has not been without problems, especially on the management of the hotels. This essay focuses on challenges faced in running a restaurant in Georgia and how to handle those challenges. Further, it outlines the impact of computerization of restaurants in Georgia. It will also outline the interdependence that exists between service, lodging and meeting segments and how to improve the interactions between the three segments.
Challenges in Managing a Restaurant
One of the challenges involved in managing restaurants in Georgia is the strict law regarding how employees must adhere to the laid down standards. The failure to fulfill the required standards can lead to the cancellation of the operation licenses (Cohen & Bhatia, 2012). In order to ensure that the management and employees comply with the laid down procedures, they need to undergo extensive training. Organizing seminars and workshops for them can ensure that they understand what the local authority demand of them. Another challenge in managing a restaurant in Georgia is the high turnover of staff. Retaining high-quality staff in Georgia is challenging since employees keep on looking for better opportunities. Addressing this issue would entail offering a conducive environment to staff members. There is a need for management to ensure competitive compensation for the workers to ensure that they retain the best talent.

This has reduced the number of individuals working on the accounts which have reduced the costs of operations. Thirdly, through computerization, restaurant management can manage its staff members. The hospitality industry is labor-intensive, which indicates that the efficient management of staff members is necessary. Computerization eases the management of personnel which enables restaurants in Georgia to make use of the employees (Kansakar, Munir & Shabani, 2019). Lastly, computer systems have been designed to monitor sales transactions. Employees do not need to record sales manually, which reduces errors.
