With the increased advocacy in the world on feminism, gender pay gap, immigration, gender equality, identity and equity; workplace diversity is becoming an inherent part of organizations. Employees make up an organization and an entity’s success majorly depend on the competency and work values of its workers. Thus, the undeniable interest in this topic on workplace diversity. Despite many institutions embracing diversity in the workplace, discrimination still exist. This is a challenge affecting many individuals as entities continuously address discrimination. Thus, diversity in the place of work can be termed as work-in-progress and improvements on how to tackle this issue is on a rolling basis.
Moreover, diversity does not only refer to age groups, race, gender, ethnicity or religion, it incorporates different competency, experience, training, creativity and talent. Working in a diverse environment encourages learning from each. Unfortunately, cultural bias and assimilation issues affect diversity. Legal enforcement has been in play to oversee the implementation of liberal, radical and transformational changes in institutions CITATION Jen17 \l 1033 (Brown, 2017).
