The focus of the research question is the use of AI in supply management and profitability in manufacturing companies, and this requires data from diverse sources. Furthermore, the research requires comparing profit between the manufacturing companies that use AI and those that do not.
3rd party data analysis is an approach suited to collect data on AI capabilities for different firms while collecting data from surveys and interviews mostly focus on one or few firms. AI can boost output for industries where there is a focus on efficiency, improved quality, and forecasting. Conducting research that focuses on one firm requires access to information about the company, but the research findings may not always be generalized.
