In line with my objectives is the profession of Human Resource Management (HRM). An array of studies has focused on developing insights about this line of management, and there is a consensus among researchers that the workforce is the most important asset an organization can possess (Lunenburg, 2012; Nakhchian, Arki, Bemani, & Branch, 2013; Osibanjo & Adeniji, 2013). Subsequently, being the person managing the workforce, I have an imperative role in the success of the organization. As a human resource manager, I will have the opportunity to contribute to at the individual and organizational level by developing and sustaining employee productivity and organizational performance. In this line of management, my professional goals will be met by aligning them with the organizational objectives, while at the same time engaging with all internal stakeholders across the board to ensure that the resources in the input lead to substantial output by addressing the human factors of the organization. There is no doubt that the competency requirements for human resource manager vary from one organization to another (Osibanjo & Adeniji, 2013). Nevertheless, trends from these practices show that there are core competencies that are constant across organizations. These core competencies are based on the basic qualifications that a human resource manager should have to for efficiency in accomplishing the job functions. Fundamentally, the competence of a human resource manager is the ability to create and sustain a productive workforce within a constructive work environment.
