Over the last five years, the company has been experiencing a high rate of staff turnover. This has affected the talent pool that the company had been building on with the previous management. In the new management strategies are focused on efficiency and higher productivity, there have been some major flaws. Largely, the management has focused more on the company development while neglecting the staff development at their personal levels. It is important to allow staff to have some element of personal development as a way of making sure that they not only stay motivated but also enhance their skills to better achieve the organizational goals (Li, Tong & Wong, 2014). Over the last two years, the management has cut back on the sponsorships limiting them to two per department. At the same time, there has been a circular pointing to reduction in the education benefits in a bid to save and invest in cloud computing. While this is a strategic move towards the future of the company, it is hurting the morale of the staff and is likely to even jeopardize the cloud computing project. The less the staff are motivated the less they are likely to be driven to achieve company goals. With such a project in mind, it is important that the staff are onboard with the implementation. This is relative to the fact that, where the staff do not feel appreciated or included in such major changes, they tend to sabotage the same (Gomez, 2014). By showing the staff that they are appreciated and allowing for career growth, the staff are going to be enthusiastic to make their mark in the project and the overall success of the company.
