The integration of Six Sigma quality practices and lean production culminated into an emergent term – Lean Six or instead Lean Six Sigma (Wisner, Tan, & Leong, 2012). That said, I acknowledge the need for my firm to execute Lean Six Sigma, particularly within our documentation control unit. Currently, quality issues and time wastage contribute to severe problems that undermine our firm’s relationship with its suppliers. Fundamentally, after issuing the supplier with the purchase order, it is their responsibility to provide the appropriate documents, including calculations, schedules, datasheets, and drawings. The challenge begins after the company receives the above-highlighted supplier documents. First, the firm’s document control personnel “hold” the records for three days because of poor processes and time wastage.
