Leadership During These Changes
As learned in this week's reading and videos, it is critical that employees be assigned specific roles during an organizational change process. Employees want/need to feel included in organizational change. This will allow for open communication during the change process. Leaders should assign roles during these change initiatives.
You are the leader of your department and want to develop a plan to present to your employees and to assign roles for an upcoming change in operating systems. The roles to include in your written plan are listed below. Use these roles as section headers in your written plan. Each section should have 2–3 paragraphs dedicated defining each major role.

Change Manager
A change manager is critical in organizational change, especially in operating systems transitions responsible for leading all the change programs. The manager should have adequate background skills in change management and coordination for smooth change and transition (Aslam et al., 2018). The key skills are problem-solving, conflict resolution, decision making, and effective communication. The key responsibility is monitoring and supervising the change process. The change manager should ensure the change is conducted straightforwardly and efficiently. Change management is crucial during organizational change since it determines its success or failure.
Additionally, the change manager should address any change disruptions and optimize the status quo in the organization. Besides, change managers should advocate for open communication and inclusivity. Communication is essential in change to allow the employees to understand the motives and goals behind the change (Aslam et al., 2018). The change manager should ensure timely communication and information consistency during the change process. Communication is crucial since it minimizes change resistance which is the major problem. The change manager should advocate for effective feedback mechanisms during change for goal achievement. Therefore, the identified roles of the change manager are definite and should be implemented throughout the change process for a successful transition in operating systems.
Sponsor
The sponsor will have definite roles and responsibilities during a change in the operating systems. The critical role of a sponsor is to create change enthusiasm (Lauer, 2010). The process is achievable by creating awareness through continuous communication regarding the change needs. The sponsor should also inspire change in the organization. Besides, the sponsor should closely coordinate with the change manager to set achievable and SMART change goals which would positively benefit the organization.
