Human behavior is connected to channels and sources of information, encompassing both passive and active information seeking and usage. It may be seen as a broad line of inquiry that aims to create generalizable explanations of the behavioral patterns seen as people gather and process information (Palese & Schmid Mast, 2022). Consequently, human information behavior is not restricted to the discrete analysis of a single kind of activity, such as decision-making. It may instead be seen as a boundary spanner that frames IS research and reveals the phenomena mentioned above in computer-mediated contexts. With the potential to increase our understanding of how human behavior changes, ontologies are categorization systems that identify entities, meanings, and interrelationships for a particular domain (De Sordi et al., 2021).
Social categorization is the process through which individuals divide themselves and other individuals into distinct categories.
