Introduction
A business organization is divided into various units or departments; for it to be successful or achieve its objectives, all the departments must work in collaboration with each other. Therefore, all employees must collaborate regardless of the unit in which they are working under. Each department carries operations which are distinct from others, with different objectives, but they are aligned towards the overall goals of the organization. Some of the departments include finance, human resource management, information and technology and purchasing and supply departments. This paper examines the purchasing and supply management department that is responsible for all the logistics and transportation functions of an organization. It is responsible for the distribution of products and services to customers. The project requires an interview with a supply chain expert from any market sector. The interview needs to cover a description about the organization, its mission and objectives as well as the duties and responsibilities, educational background, experiences and challenges of the interviewed personnel.
In this project, I have chosen IKEA Food Services, which is well known for providing people with Swedish taste and experience. It is a privately owned organization and the professional that I am interviewing is Mr. John Kennedy, a purchasing and supply manager of the company.

IKEA has a mission of providing its customers with best products and services ever in the industry by focusing on Swedish food. Its mission is to provide its customers with delicious Swedish foods and experiences through its restaurants cafes and bistros. The company is passionate of providing its customers with high quality food products and services in a clean and friendly environment at lowest possible prices.
The objectives of the company is to expand into international markets and join the giants of the industry such as the McDonalds and Starbucks that have succeeded in penetrating the global market. IKEA was first established as a woodwork and furniture specialized organization, but later diversified into food services with the aim of promoting a healthy and nutritious life. Therefore, their goal shifted to promoting an eco-friendly environment and a healthy lifestyle.
