Important Leadership Concepts
Effective leadership promotes organizational growth and development. Some crucial concepts discussed in the class have significantly changed my previous ideas about things that might cause failure in leadership. They include bullying and insensitivity, arrogance, betraying personal trust, performance problems, being too ambitious, and micromanaging (Influence ppt, 2021). Leaders must avoid these things since they can damage their reputation and have adverse effects on their companies. For example, micromanaging employees kills creativity and productivity.
Peter Drucker said that “leadership is doing the right thing” (MBAC 6106 Lead 1 ppt, 2021). The primary question that one can ask is, how does a leader know that he or she is behaving well? Specifically, leadership behaviors are other concepts that have reinforced an individual’s understanding of leadership. They include acting with integrity, building trust, inspiring others, coaching people, rewarding achievers, and encouraging innovative thinking.
