Job design entails determining the duties and responsibilities of employees in a specific work sector to ensure that the activities match the organizational goals. The employees in question should also learn and know how to relate with their coworkers to ensure job satisfaction through maximum performance in the assigned tasks. Job design helps in the ultimate management of employees to enhance accountability in their work towards achievement and maintenance of success. Hence, all employees have all tasks invested towards adding value to the company to create a competitive advantage and realization of maximum profits. The implementation of job design includes two approaches; efficiency and motivation, all focused on the performance of workers in specific industries.
Efficiency approach
Workers employ this approach to achieve efficiency in the goal of maintaining mass production under normal business operations. The standard integration in this approach uses equipment in the advanced technology in their job specifications. In this case, the employees work with the help of machines resulting in excellent levels of achievement in all job outcomes. The devices help the workers in their tasks by enhancing the easier completion of tasks even while working under the pressure of short deadlines. Also, machines help in the reduction of movements in the working environment as every worker knows what's expected of them, and they do not have to move around seeking help form colleagues. The specification helps in time management and minimization of errors in the delivery of tasks since the machines used to enhance efficiency. The main idea in the efficiency approach is the simplification of tasks to achieve success in the shortest possible schedule without the occurrence of mistakes and errors in the process.
On the other hand, the managers and supervisors experience less ecstasy in the management of workers since whatever the employees indulge in is recorded into the system. Also, the workers have to follow the instructions commanded by machines and their supervisors, reducing the labor of dealing with wrongly implemented decisions. The idea depowers workers minimizing the chances of getting into a deviation from the desired rules and regulations in different organizations. Hence, the employees have to work consistently concerning the company's requirements, and adherence results to the easier achievement of goals and objectives.
