Diversity and Inclusion:
A generational is a group of people who fall within a common age range and share similar values, attitudes, and ideas. The presence of workers from different generations working together in an organization is a form of diversity (Price & Price, 2011). Employees who understand the values and attitudes of their generations, as well as that of their workmates, do not only encourage interaction, but they also help in balancing policies to develop diversity to levels that benefit everyone (Ortiz, 2018). Condemnatory organizations embrace the variety that comes with generational differences in their workplaces because it helps to harmonize and tap into the experience of employees from older generations and technical knowhow and innovative skills of the present-day generations. This helps to ensure that the organization has a balance of workforce, which reflects the face of the general public.
Organizations succeed in managing diversity in the workplace through different strategies. Some create and execute inclusive practices and policies which do not discriminate or favor a specific group of employees (Ortiz, 2018). Some firms provide diversity training to bridge the gap between employees’ style of thinking, gender, cultural values, ethnicity, race, and religious affiliation. The practice brings up to speed all staff with the overall expectations and goals of the firm; hence, preventing the possibilities of blame games in the event of an error or loss. Some other strategies which are commonly used by other organizations include but are not limited to: working with this diversity (Price & Price, 2011). Embracing diversity usually expands the communication strategy of the company. The other plan entails clarifying what the firm expects of each staff, speak facts, and show respect to all employees irrespective of their status and position in the firm.
