A servant leader desires to create conditions that encourage followers to achieve their objectives as well as reach their potentials. It is this desire that followers appreciate in their servant leaders because they consider them to be reliable and committed to a certain objective. In our career paths, we tend to emulate our mentors in an attempt at being a good leader like they were during their times. Throughout my career path, I can say I have been fortunate to be associated with successful leaders because of the style they choose. However, I tend to look up to my leader during my first internship; she was highly motivated by wanting all of us to reach our potentials.
I consider her to be my mentor; she had this desire to ensure that everybody becomes a better person. She had detached her self-interests from those of serving others (Spears, 2010). Her interests were to help and protect her followers by acting as an example to everyone. She was always on time, and her words depicted her actions. The bottom line has she followed Jesus Christ's footsteps.
