Sports ministry is the conservative Christian engagement with athletic activities. Particularly, these initiatives started in the U.S. following the end of the Second World War. Fellowship of Christian Athletes is one of the top multi-sports agencies, bringing in roughly $139.5 million annually. Fellowship of Christian Athletes is an international, humanitarian, and Christian sports organization situated in homophobia (Wolfer, 2020). To utilize athletic forums to share the gospel, it collaborates extensively with athletes and trainers at the middle school, high school, college, and professional levels. The declaration of faith serves as the foundation for the entity's organizational guidelines, which call for executives to endorse the objectives, goals, and affirmation of the organization's religion for every initiative implemented.
FCA believes it is its responsibility to prevent homosexuality in communities. For instance, one section of its proclamation of faith states that marriage is unquestionably the union of one man and one woman. Authorities and recruits must agree to the doctrine of sexual pureness, which emphasizes that every individual has to exist in righteousness and that sexual impurity is undesirable before God after endorsing each point in the proclamation of faith. FCA was established in 1954 by basketball coach Don McClanen of Eastern Oklahoma. After observing how sportspeople were employed in product promotion and sales, McClanen developed the concept for founding the charitable group. To employ athletes to propagate the Christian religion, McClanen employed the same theory. He sought the advice of 19 distinct well-known sports personalities and requested assistance carrying out his goal.
