Define, in your own words, emergency management, and briefly discuss the purpose of why the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was created.
Emergency management is coordinating and managing resources and roles relating to mitigation, preparedness, recovery, and response to natural and man-made disasters like floods, terrorism, hurricanes, and drought, among others. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Agency was created by the Department of homeland security in the United States (Sadiq et al. 2016). The agency coordinates the federal government's role in mitigating, preventing, responding, and recovering from all domestic disasters like terrorism. The purpose of this agency was to coordinate the response of the country against disasters. The agency provides the local and State authorities with the necessary funds for rebuilding efforts.
