Supply chain management is a crucial topic in the military due to its numerous impacts. It is a cross-functional process that procures, produces, and delivers services and products necessary for military operations (Cantelmi et al., 2020). The central aspect in defining the military supply chain is its network. The process is based on a chain of activities that any military official must consider before procuring military materials. Supply chain management in the military is essential since it is based on critical materials the official must handle to avoid interaction with unwanted parties. Therefore, supply chain management must comply with the policies and procedures to avoid shipment issues. Successful supply chain management relies on effective production and procurement processes which every manager must consider. The paper probes specific elements of supply chain management, including delivery, sourcing, and planning. It is necessary to understand the identified elements since they determine the successful implementation of military policy and requirements.

The critical element in military-based supply chain management is planning. It involves imperative demand and supply control, especially from the manufacturing firm. According to Wilhite et al.
