Mars Inc. is a purpose-driven and futuristic company that believes in a better tomorrow from the efforts they cultivate today. The company's mission statement centers around five principles that govern its decisions; quality, mutuality, responsibility, freedom, and efficiency (MARS, 2022). These principles are the foundation of how they carry out their business every day. They differentiate the company from all other businesses in the same field.
Management Strategies-Measuring their Effectiveness
To ensure that the new team members align with the mission, the two management strategies that will be implemented will include effective communication and team collaboration. Effective communication will ensure that the members gain clarity and a coherent understanding of their expected roles and goals (Mone & London, 2018). Team collaboration will be important to ensure that the members accomplish their tasks on time, without conflicts, or with effective conflict resolution methods (Mone & London, 2018). Measuring the effectiveness of each of these strategies will determine their contribution to the organization and the management gaps that should be fixed. The effectiveness of communication will be measured by reviewing the team members' responses and feedback regarding the effectiveness of communication within the organization. Secondly, the members' engagement with forms of communication will be monitored, and finally, employee turnover rates will be tracked. Two major strategies will be used to measure the effectiveness of team collaboration. These will include the manager quality index and the HR effectiveness index. The manager quality index will assess the rates of members’ satisfaction within the management team (Mone & London, 2018). The HR effectiveness index will entail employee and financial metrics, including productivity and turnover, employee satisfaction, and reports on investment returns (Mone & London, 2018).
Managing Diversity
One effective method that will be employed to measure diversity will be creating and establishing a solid culture of empathy and forgiveness within the organization. Where there is diversity and inclusion, it is almost impossible not to experience challenges with the employees in how they carry out their tasks due to different mindsets and prior experiences (Price & Nelson, 2018). It is important to understand human nature and that everyone experiences challenges at one point. Therefore, as a manager, it will be essential to admit to mistakes and motivate employees. Having a servant leader mindset will be one articulate skill that will pioneer the movement.
