Introduction
Cloud computing, classic smart homes, and the internet of things are the building components of our proposed city household systems. Each component offers its technologies and attributes to the proposed city household system. IoT provides remote management of mobile appliances that are inbuilt with sensors and internet connections to enable networking. Sensors can be connected to home devices, like lights, air conditioners, among other environmental appliances. Therefore, it applies computer intelligence in home appliances for measuring and monitoring home conditions and appliance functionalities. Cloud computing offers a wide range of computing capabilities, home management application, and storage space for developing, running, running, maintaining, and controlling home devices even when one is away from home. The processing system controls the whole household composition.
Generating an effective home-based system using the IoT has appeared in recent scholarly works in different ways. As per, Stergioua et al 2018 he merged IoT and cloud computing to demonstrate how the latter technology improves how the former function. According to (Al-Kuwari et al, 2018), they focused on using embedded IoT analyzed data to execute home appliance commands remotely in smart homes. And (Trisha et al, 2018) proposes a library that preserves privacy to avoid the traffic of commands made to home appliances. On the other hand (Mao, Lin & Bian, 2018) improve machine learning of algorithms to help in executing commands in smart home ecosystems. And lastly, according to (Saeed et al, 2018), they propose the use of sensors to sense and offer accurate and real-time detection of fires.
In this chapter, we elucidate how IoT can be used to manage household systems. And to do this we analyze the basics of cloud computing, IoT, and smart home processing systems. Also discussed is the synergy and complementarily that detail what currently drive the integration of IoT in the management of home-based appliances. From the perspective of connectivity, IoT devices are connected to the cloud that is connected to the internet which connects to the home’s local area network. The linkages support the whole system to complete the interconnected and complete composition with revamped processing power, comprehensive applications, third-party tools, and broad storage space.
