Review the issue the human resources manager is facing with the conflict between Abram and Jon. For this assignment you will prepare a 2- to 3-page report to Thomas describing how you will resolve this conflict. Describe the conflict resolution method you plan to use and justify why this is the best approach.
For this assignment, do the following:
1. Locate three peer-reviewed articles in the CSU-Global library on resolving organizational conflicts.
2. Read each article and consider your own opinion of the issue.
3. Write a 2- to 3-page report describing how you would resolve the conflict. Describe the conflict resolution method you plan to use and justify why this is the best approach.
4. Be sure to use effective written communication strategies to convey your ideas.

Workplace conflict is any disagreement among colleagues which may disrupt work flow, hinder teamwork and hurts productivity (De Dreu., et al 2001) Human resource personnel are normally involved in resolving conflicts. The way they handle them affects the conflicting staff and entire company because it will create a ripple effect. Conflicts are unavoidable regardless of the cause (Trudel, J., 2011)
Abram and Jon scenario is a workplace conflict and the new human resource has been tasked to resolve it because Abram who is the supervisor is unable to solve it. Managing conflicts is critical hence new human resource should consider below strategies to manage Jon’s complaint.
Hearing both sides
This involves giving both parties an opportunity to share their story in detail. A solution can be easily obtained by getting facts right when each party shares his story. When employees are given a chance to express themselves in a case they feel better even if they lose it. The new HR must engage both Abram and Jon in a table to get to hear both sides of the story. By doing this he will have a deeper understanding of the complaint paving way for a solution (Stringfellow, A. 2012).
Getting to the root of the complaint
Giving Both Abram and Jon a chance to explain themselves is imperative since it will help in getting to the root of the problem. The HR will be able to determine whether is personality or work-related conflict. The root cause here is Jon’s unexplained absenteeism which is against the engineering division’s policy (Stringfellow, A. 2012).
Teaching employee to embrace their differences
When several conflicts occur in an organization, it is prudent to implement conflict diverse program to mitigate future occurrence since the program will provide platform for employees to embrace their differences (Stringfellow, A. 2012).
Finding a common ground
No matter how drastic differences are, an equilibrium will always be achieved. HR must ensure that he finds something which both Abram and Jon agree on. This is important as it regain rapport between the two and provide an opportunity to solve the issue. Abram and Jon should agree on the problem and worst-case scenario (Kappel, M. 2017).
