There were three errors involving punctuation using commas. This includes: comma after an introductory element a run on sentence errors, and the comma splice. To use commas after the introductory element, it is necessary to highlight the introductory phrases that are part of the main sentence. To identify common splice and run on sentences, it is necessary to identify how transitional words links the sentences and clauses. Both of these errors occur when there is no clarity on what the main clause is, and when the sentences are to be separated. Run-on sentences are present when there is no intervening punctuation joining sentences, while the comma splice is associated with joining two sentences.
Editing requires going through what is written to identify mistakes and errors. This can be a tedious process, and once I have completed I revise the paper or written to remove the obvious mistakes. Errors involving commas are major, and correcting them would improve my writing greatly. Meanwhile, I appreciate the need for repeated revising, and at times reading out loud sentences. Separating formal and informal writing helps one to understand how common errors affect editing. I have had to break long sentences into smaller bit to avoid misusing the comma and other punctuation marks, even when this also requires rearranging some sentences.
