Debilitative emotions are dangerous emotions that can keep our bodies and brains from proper functioning (Parish, 2018). The level of severity or intensity of a debilitative emotion determines a person’s response to the situation (Quinton, et al., 2019). In my case, I have been through difficult times multiple times.
One of the most recent incidents is when I saw an office mate teasing a female worker and not admitting his mistake. In our office, we are taught that there is no room for discrimination and that every female worker should be respected and valued. However, one of our mates forgot his moral values and work ethics. He began teasing a female employee who had recently joined the office. When a complaint was submitted to the owner of the company, he refused to admit his mistake and instead said that the female employee was trying to attract him.
