Sally Komen, 40, is a registered nurse who works at Lenox Hill Hospital, New York, and she has worked there for the past ten years. She lives at 50 W 77th St, New York, a few minutes from work. In the past, Komen was a victim of a stolen identity crime, which left her incredibly upset and disturbed and with an immense fear of using the internet. The identity theft incident made Komen afraid of transacting online or using the internet. Since then, she has never bought anything online and is afraid to share any personal information online. However, she wants to order her favorite shoes from the All Collections website. The decision to buy online was prompted by the time constraints and convenience of avoiding crowds when shopping in stores.
Komen has never ordered an item using the All Collections website and is skeptical about the security data that arose from a past incident when shopping on another website. She wishes to place an order but feels a strong urge to refuse the convenience offered by shopping online as provided by the All Connections website. All Collections has discount offers currently on all products, and Komen feels inclined to take advantage of the offers. Still, the past incident of her theft of identity online makes her hesitant to take advantage of the discount and convenience brought by online shopping.
Also, Komen is skeptical about sharing her credit card details. She would like to place the order and share a few details about herself. Komen is determined to use the online platform to make purchases due to the convenience of time, and the product she desires is only available on the internet. Thus, Komen should install strong, up-to-date security software and learn how to detect whether the All Connections website she is using is a credible company website or not. Using a credible website and installing up-to-date security features will prevent spam that aid in identity theft.
