The Tragic Case of Emily Grierson Who doesn't love to have a fairytale romance? Falling in love with your prince charming and live happily ever after? Everyone does. But sad to say fairytales do exist but in real life? Not really. Not everyone have the chance to have a happily ever after. And when it happens, it's usually short lived. Fantasy and reality are different worlds when it comes to love. Romance and making it into a fairytale is not the same. Love is a choice and all about finding someone that can accepts you the way you are. There is no such thing as your knight and shining armor because it's whoever that someone is. In love, you're a team, sharing and helping each other, putting and building a strong structure through the years being together and holding on even if the skies get rough. But when things rarely go as planned, you have to accept it. Hence, despite the endlessness of the relationship, through thick and thin, a painful and formidable duration will still set in as especially if losing him or her is unexpected or out of the blue. Sometimes, love ends into a tragic way, which is death, that everyone never wanted to go through. Losing a loved one can be a very traumatic—his or her death can be the most heartbreaking incidence one can go through. Dealing with it can never be easy or painless. Dealing with break ups and moving on are only a few of the most heart-rending experiences but being in the same situation will also be the way in finding ourselves. You hold on to something that can comfort you. You start to look yourself in a sad story and you just imagine as if you are there in the story. You place yourself in characters and feel the pain. These sad stories reflects on who we are and the present state of mind we have. Maybe the reason for liking such stories is, you yourself being in a sad state. Sad stories show how a hurtful breakup and death of a loved one is changing who you are as a person and how you interact with other people and future relationships. Stories show how people grieve in many different ways over the death of their loved ones. We have to deal with it and accept the reality that all of us will experience death. Because if we don't, we might end up like Miss Emily Grierson, the main character in "A Rose for Emily". Often cited as William Faulkner's best short story and even one of the best American short stories of the 20th Century.
