Online marketing is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. More people are getting used to the idea of buying and selling their wears online. This means that for the online companies, they have to be vigilant to make sure that they are able to connect clients at the individual level and offer personalized shopping experiences. At EBay, there has been a growing concern on how best to search for goods and services on the company site. This is relative to the fact that over the years the customers have had a hard time getting to the products and the services that they want as result, customers as such struggle with getting what it is that they want.
Internally, the company has been struggling to get the customers the best experience. This is mostly connected to the fact that; the company has been working on getting its sales figures boosted. Most of the sellers have been looking to the company to improve the ways in which their clients can access their goods. The search algorithm used before, has been quite difficult for the sellers to reach their customers at their point of need (Delore, 2016). On the other hand, the company has been experiencing massive pressure from the customers relative to the fact that, customers are looking for a chance to get personalized services. There is also the fact that the shareholders have been mounting pressure on the company, following the slow growth and loss in value of the company shares. As such, the shareholders have been pushing for radical changes in the company to make sure that, it rises above the competition. At the same time, there have been quite a number of companies that are growing within the online market (Hsiao, 2016). These have since mounted pressure on EBay to improve its services, especially with the customers are able to access the goods and services and the ease of access. There are quite a number of players in the industry among them, Amazon, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Sears, Etsy and Target. All of these are major players in the industry and have been chipping away at EBay’s customer base across the country.
The stakeholders that are involved in this case include the staff, the shareholders, sellers and the buyers. In this case, the sellers are going to be affected by the fact that, they will have their goods move much faster. This is relative to the best match algorithm, where the customers will have a much easier time searching for the products and the services that they want (Garner, 2015). The staff will also be affected by the change in the way that they will be able to connect with the clients when they come to the company site. With the ease of navigation, the staff will have an easier time directing their clients. This is the case relative to the correct titles of the products, reasonable prices, accurate categories and clear descriptions.
The main stakeholders that are involved in the change are mainly the sellers. This is relative to the fact that, the changes in the search algorithm affects the way that the customers are able to interact with the products that have been put up on the site (Hsiao, 2016).
