Abrams and co-authors in this article address societal views on the impact and how to reduce nicotine use, minimize and control tobacco smoking. According to this article, smokers tend to inhale toxic smoke when smoking cigarettes (Tobacco). Toxic smoke is the leading cause of death and infections related to tobacco smoking. Alternative Nicotine Delivery Systems (ANDS) provide various means of reducing cigarette smoking to save many lives from respiratory problems. Some of the measures inform the public about the harm of cigarette use to individual and public health, policy and regulation for people to minimize e-cigarette and tobacco use. They are minimizing nicotine and tobacco use by looking at the harms that help implement tobacco control efforts.

The electronic cigarette produces glycerin and propylene glycol which are dangerous to human health. Toxicity is higher when there are more ingredients in the electronic liquid. Other harmful chemicals produced by e-cigarettes are formaldehyde, acrolein, and acetaldehyde. This chemical can cause heart and lung disease. The acrolein contained in an e-cigarette can cause asthma, lung injury, and lung cancer. According to the National Academies of Science and the U.S. Surgeon General, inhaling secondhand e-cigarette emissions is risky to humans. This source is vital as it outlines all the essential points to understand the risks of electronic cigarettes.

This article explains how electronic cigarette works and the risks to human health. The electronic cigarette comprises different parts such as the mouthpiece, atomizer, battery, sensor, and solution. The solution is an electronic juice or liquid made up of nicotine, a mixture of flavouring and propylene glycol. It works by the user sucking the mouthpiece. The heat in the cigarette vaporizes the solution (nicotine content) for the user to inhale. E-cigarettes have many serious health risks. Those advised to avoid vaping are pregnant women, children or youths, and those who have never smoked.
