In his article, Anthony Pellegrini discusses the importance of recess and its contribution to the well-being of school-going children, including social and academic well-being. The article outlines the benefits of rest as an integral demand for adult bodies. In the same way, children, too, deserve rest to bring their minds to relaxation. In early childhood educational institutions, recess has been fought against in the United States and the United Kingdom (Pellegrini, 2008). Anthony Pellegrini expresses his argument about recess implementation in schools. He puts across the disadvantages and dangers that exist in the disjuncture between policy and research, concluding that the disjuncture is massive between the current policy on recess and the available scientific evidence on the value and importance of recess (Pellegrini, 2008).
