Imagine you are coordinating the first press conference after the Boston Marathon Bombings. You have media requests from local, national, and international media outlets all requesting credentialing to attend the press conference. You now receive a credentialing request from a blogger with a dubious relationship with accurate reporting, and a record of post conspiracy-tinted stories. The goal of the press conference is to provide the public with a sense of confidence in the government's response to the incident, and the outlet the blogger is writing for has circulation figures on par with some major nationally syndicated outlets.
Your goal is to disseminate information to the broadest possible audience, and shutting the blogger out may become a story in it's own right. However inviting the blogger runs the risk of creating a scene if they do not follow standard ground rules and protocol.
