Ans1. The Society/Government should provide extra retirement income help to person “B”. Being an army Veterans, B takes on the responsibility of protecting the freedom and safety of a country. These army veterans choose difficult and challenging lives for the sake of their country, making it difficult for them to resume civilian life after retirement (Castro, 2016). Choosing B as the candidate for providing extra retirement income has a positive effect on the reputation of a county’s army which will consequently motivate significant amount of people to enlist and dedicate their lives for the well-being of a nation.
Ans2. None of these people should have their pension payment reduced. All of the candidates were compensated accordingly for hard work and were hardly able make considerable savings. For Example, A saved only 12% of his salary every year and resulted in receiving a 120% of his salary as a pension upon his retirement.
Ans3. To make sure that sufficient retirement income is received, a person should focus on saving every year. Acquiring and retaining a steady job with adequate growth increases savings and helps a person afford Social Security payments. Person A was consistent in saving and paying maximum Social Security taxes which ultimately made him the perfect candidate, receiving 120% of his salary as retirement income. However, a person who cannot sustain a job and is inconsistent in savings and social security payments suffers in future, as it substantially affects his retirement income.
