The Normal Life of People with Autism
People with autism, like any other individual, are ordinary people who can live everyday life. They are not disabled. Instead, they are differently-abled individuals who have special needs to survive life. Nevertheless, with proper guidance and support, they can live normally and independently, as long as the world can accept them without prejudice.
People with autism need guidance, and this can be provided if they are diagnosed and treated early. Recognizing the disorder in its early stages is vital in the progression of the symptoms since these must be addressed as early as possible to prevent worsening of the condition. The response to early treatment predicts the long-term outcomes for the patient as an excellent response can be equated with a better quality of life (i.e., absence of diminished levels of mental health problems). This is critical in helping the individual become independent in the future. All of the internal and external problems of the individual must be recognized and addressed to help the individual adapt to a realistic environment different from the one provided to help him grow.
