Sigmund Freud is regarded as the founder of Psychoanalysis. A philosopher in his way, Freud dissected a lot of complex issues that are related to humans. The father of psychoanalysis looked at issues regarding sexuality, love, sex, and relationships between the different genders, among many other areas. It is worth noting that as much as Freud wrote extensively regarding psychoanalysis, his works have been discredited in certain parts of the world (Freud, 2018). The US is one of the nations that have poured cold water on extensively researched works of Freud through Psychology. However, Freud remains to be a kingpin in dissecting essential issues that concern humans.
In his works, ‘The Infantile Genital Organization of the Libido: A Supplement to the Theory of Sexuality,’ Freud argues that there is a difference in sexuality in children and adults. The author argues that there is a difference in how the two categories interact with matters of sexuality and their urge to engage in adult things. An essential point that the author notes is that children tend to change as they grow and discover themselves (Freud, 1924). Freud notes that children develop an urge to try out things when it comes to matters of sexuality. Moreover, the author notes that infantile sexuality develops more when it comes to the fifth year, which is the last stage of its course.
